UPDATE ON A JAPANESE GROUP FELL ILL ON FLIGHT VN300 HCMC-TOKYO

Hanoi, October 29th, 2016 - Vietnam Airlines would like to provide an update in relation to a group of Japanese passengers who fell ill during flight VN300 from HCMC to Tokyo on October 28th.

Firstly, we would like to express our sympathy for the ill passengers who experienced this unwanted situation. We wish them all a speedy recovery.‎

An official announcement, issued by the Japanese Government’s Quarantine Services, concludes that the cause(s) of the sickness were not connected to the flight. Narita International Airport Clinic also stated that an inspection of food supplied on the flight is not necessary. The aircraft that conducted the original flight was allowed to return to Vietnam as flight VN301, which landed in HCMC at 13:29 (local time).

According to the passengers’ representative, the last affected passenger, who was kept in the hospital for observation, will be released this afternoon.‎

Vietnam Airlines would like to extend its appreciation to the voluntary doctor who assisted the crew during the flight VN300 HCMC-Tokyo on October 28th.‎


Vietnam Airlines is cooperating fully with both Vietnamese and Japanese authorities in investigating the incident.
